With a name like obliteration, I expected this to be much harsher. This is pleasantly refined. No mistaking, it's got plenty of assertive hop flavor and bitterness, but it's got the malt to balance it out. It definitely finishes on the bitter side, but I think it's actually smoother and easier to drink than the Stone IPA that's the closest beer to it I would compare it to. Overall very enjoyable, and another nice break from the mostly-malty holiday ale styles in the calendar.
