I know absolutely nothing about the religious part of it. According to the owner of the brew shop that builds the calendars each year, Advent starts at different times each year and this year it started yesterday.
Of course, wikipedia knows all:
"At least in the Roman Catholic and Lutheran calendars, Advent starts on the fourth Sunday before December 25; in other words, the Sunday between November 27 and December 3 inclusive."
My advent apparently starts tomorrow, according to Susan. So I'm jealous of the fact you've already started sampling.
