Cuvee du 8eme

Amber ale brewed with cocoa powder. Brasserie des Franches-Montagnes, Switzerland. 11.3oz bottle 7.5% abv.

I think this is the first beer I've ever had from Switzerland, and it's nice.

Aroma is very slightly hoppy, with a hint of sourness and chocolate/cocoa. The cocoa is subtle, but there.

Flavor is lightly malty with a bit of sweetness. Finish is fairly balanced. Mouthfeel is nicely crisp and it's surprisingly drinkable for its alcohol content.

  2. My step-mom worked for google as a contractor for a while. We got a bunch of google swag out of the deal, pint glasses, a slinky, rubik's cube, mobile mouse, t-shirts, etc. My favorite is a kick-ass portable martini set. We took it to the local outdoor Big Bad Voodoo Daddy concert last year, and all the folks around us were jealous that we had martinis and all they had was beer/wine.
